Appearance and settings
Open Settings with ⌘,, the gear icon at the bottom of the global rail, or via the command palette. Settings has six tabs.
Appearance
Theme
Choose from six themes — three light and three dark:
Light themes:
| Theme | Background | Character |
|---|---|---|
| Default | Clean white | Neutral, high-contrast |
| Paper | Warm ivory | Easy on the eyes for long sessions |
| Light Contrast | White | Maximum contrast for accessibility |
Dark themes:
| Theme | Background | Character |
|---|---|---|
| Moonlight | Soft blue-gray | Easy, atmospheric dark mode |
| Black | Pure black | Maximum darkness, OLED-friendly |
| Dark Contrast | Black | Maximum contrast for accessibility |
Themes apply instantly and persist across windows and restarts.
Accent colour
The accent controls highlight colours throughout the app. Four options:
| Accent | Colour |
|---|---|
| Blue (default) | Blue-green |
| Steel | Cool sky blue |
| Coral | Warm coral-red |
| Amber | Golden yellow |
The Context Composer always uses its own indigo regardless of accent — so you can always distinguish “assemble context” actions from other UI elements.
Context Composer placement
- Modal — the Composer opens as a centred overlay.
- Dock — the Composer opens as a fourth column to the right of the Inspector. Good if you compose context frequently and want it always visible.
Editor font
Pick a font for the source editor. Options include JetBrains Mono (bundled — always available), SF Mono, Menlo, Monaco, Consolas, Fira Code, Cascadia Code, Source Code Pro, IBM Plex Mono, Courier New, or Custom… to type any font installed on your machine.
Editor font size
Use A− and A+ to adjust the source editor’s text size between 11 px and 24 px. Click Reset to return to the default (13.5 px).
Editor line height
| Setting | Line height |
|---|---|
| Tight | 1.4 |
| Cozy | 1.6 |
| Default | 1.75 |
| Relaxed | 2.0 |
Reduce motion
Toggle off transitions and animations across the app — useful for accessibility or if you prefer a faster feel.
Notifications
Configure which events generate notifications:
| Event | When it fires |
|---|---|
| Task overdue | A task whose due date has passed |
| Task due today | A task due on today’s date |
| Inbox items | New captures waiting in the inbox |
| Published releases | A release marked as published |
Toggle each type on or off independently.
